January 20–Gary Farr & His All Star Big Band brings back the best of Frank Sinatra, Count Basie and Glenn Miller for Boca’s Big Band Extravaganza at The Funky Biscuit in Royal Palm Place for several Sunday nights – January 29, Feb. 12 and Feb. 26th at 7:00 P.M.
With band leader Gary Farr at the keyboard, internationally acclaimed recording artist Ron Fattorusso joins Jim Hayward in the sax section, Scott Melamerson on trumpet and brass musicians backed with bass, guitar and drums for a sound that’s true to swing and today. The roster also features singers Matt Farr and Danielle Natividad with favorites including “Unforgettable,” “It Had to Be You,” and “Come Fly With Me.”
This 16-piece, tux-clad big band showcase is the brainchild of seasoned band leader Gary Farr, who played the South Florida circuit for two decades and worked from London to Los Angeles, most recently placing music for Oprah Winfrey, NBC and the Weather Channel.
“Michael Buble´and Harry Connick, Jr.,- and TV shows like ‘Dancing with the Stars’ and ‘Pan Am’ – have popularized the swinging sound of hot brass,” said Farr.
